Real Estate

Scott represents individuals and corporations with all aspects of real estate contracts, drafting, and negotiation. He represents developers, sellers, buyers, brokers, inspectors in real estate matters including litigation and dispute resolution.

Collections

Scott Snyder represents national and local businesses, collection companies and corporations in matters involving collection of unpaid accounts receivables, beach of contract, and monies owed. Scott is ethical but aggressive. He has successfully recovered funds for clients/creditors even where a debtor may have filed for bankruptcy protection. He also represents individual debtors seeking to defend claims from creditors and in resolving disputes by seeking efficient, economic solutions as an alternative to litigation and bankruptcy where possible.

Business and Corporate

Whether you are an established business or an entrepreneur just starting up, Scott can help. Scott has represented some of the largest companies in the region as well as some of the smallest. Scott organizes, drafts, and files documents for corporations, limited liability companies, and sole proprietors and provides ongoing practical legal advice.

While serving as Corporate Counsel for Rentrak Corporation, a video, entertainment, and data software company, Scott managed hundreds of cases nationwide throughout the United States and Canada. Scott aggressively pursued breach of contract, fraud, and commercial collection lawsuits in state and federal court.

The result: hundreds of thousands of dollars annually for the company and major Hollywood studios seeking to protect their revenue and intellectual property.

Prior to serving as Corporate Counsel for Rentrak, Scott was an in-house insurance defense litigator for Safeco Insurance where he defended automobile negligence claims, homeowners policy claims, property disputes, and insurance coverage matters.

Scott has invaluable firsthand knowledge of practices and legal strategies of insurance companies and how claims are evaluated and defended. Scott had the highest statistical efficiency rating of all lawyers in the Safeco Portland regional office in terms of annual number of cases resolved and time frame for resolution.

While serving as Attorney at Valley Insurance Company, Scott aggressively collected hundreds of thousands of dollars annually from defendants who owed his clients money for uninsured motorist vehicle negligence claims, deductibles, and damage to property. He defended clients from negligence, property damage, and contract claims brought against them in state court throughout Oregon. Scott presented annual training in litigation and alternative dispute resolution to claims adjusters and personnel throughout California, Oregon and Washington. He directed the company’s Special Investigative Unit to ensure compliance with state and federal anti-fraud laws to protect policyholders and the company from bogus and fraudulent insurance scams.

Scott has also represented a high tech company in federal litigation involving millions of dollars of trade secrets, trade name, and breach of contract. Scott has also successfully negotiated and recovered approximately $130,000.00 from an out of state company that had owed a corporation money for goods shipped but never paid for years earlier – until Scott became involved and obtained monetary recovery.
